Eg (Training) Ltd was set up by Helen Woodrow, who qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1995. Helen Woodrow worked as a Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS for 6 years before going into Independent Practice in 2001.
Eg (Training)Ltd has continued to grow, we now employ six Speech and Language Therapists and three admin staff to enable us to provide a wide range of Therapy Training services.
The aim of Eg(Training) is to provide a service that meets the specific Speech and Language Therapy needs of each client and their family or carers. Eg(Training) provide individual and contract services in homes, schools, residential and day care settings across the East Midlands and West Midlands regions This includes speech therapy in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, and Warwickshire. Speech and Language Therapy sessions can also be provided at The Foundation Therapy Room.
Eg(Training) work with children and adults with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Our areas of special interest are:
Learning and physical disabilities
Autistic spectrum disorders
Dysphagia ( Eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties)
Communication aids and associated technology
P.E.C.S (Picture Exchange Communication System)
Makaton - signs and symbols
Sensory Integration

Eg(Training) are experienced at working within a multidisciplinary team, including working with case managers, teaching staff, consultants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dieticians, psychologists, nursing staff etc. We are also experienced at liaising across different settings, for example working with a child at both home and school.
Eg(Training) are happy to discuss your Speech and Language Therapy needs with you and then make suggestions for further Speech and Language Therapy assessment and therapy where appropriate. Eg(Training) understand your need for a flexible service and will always endeavour to work within your time frames and budget.
