Yael Black

Yael has experience working in varied paediatric settings, both in placements and working in a special needs school as an SLT. She has a good understanding of therapeutic interventions and has used different therapy programs including narrative therapy, Colourful Semantics, Language for Thinking, Social Stories, PECS and Feuerstein approaches. When appropriate she uses video and audio recording to enable good monitoring and reflection of therapy sessions.

Yael was born in London and has been living in Manchester for 2 years.

Yael is mum to a 2 year old daughter and enjoys taking an active role within her community. Yael was a youth leader for 7 years and taught Key Stage 1 in Sunday school. She has also volunteered at special needs residential camps caring for children with Autism and complex needs. Using her SLT skills she was able to modify instructions and activities to suit their needs and deal with behaviour that seemed challenging.

Yael enjoys being a team member and the problem solving, feeding back and developing joint goals that this brings. She is part of the Speech and Language Therapy team at Eg(Training)Ltd and accesses the experience of the team for supervision and support to enable her to work within RCSLT. This ensures that our clients are supported by a team and can expect an excellent standard of service at all times.
